Overview

Nagaland is the land of festivals, this interesting tourist festival is put together by all the tribes to showcase Naga culture , handicraft and cuisine. All the tribs perform a variety of cultural items.

You can enjoy hornbill tribal dance, songs and costume.For visitors it means a closer understanding of the people and culture of Nagaland. Your visiting Nagaland during festival time to enjoy the food, song, dance and custom of Nagaland.

Organized by the State Directorate of Tourism, Nagaland, Hornbill Festival showcases a mélange of cultural displays under one roof. Every year this colour full festival takes place between the 1st to the 10th of December in Kohima.

DAY 01: ARRIVE KOLKATA (FLIGHT)

Welcome to India- a country where hospitality is a way of life ; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. Our representative will receive you at the airport in a traditional manner with garlands and escort you to your hotel.
Overnight at Kolkata.
Meal: No Meal

DAY 02: KOLKATA - DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (FLIGHT + 70 KMS. DRIVE)

Morning after a breakfast transfer to airport to board flight to Dimapur . Upon arrival at Dimapur airport meet and assistance by our representative and drive to Kohima. On arraival check in at hotel.
Rest of the day free at leisure.
Overnight at Kohima.
Meal: Breakfast

DAY 03 & DAY 04: KOHIMA

Full day at Kohima and witness of Hornbill Festival. During the Festival in 2 days, before & after exhibition, we do excursion of surrouinding villages of Kohima, such as Old Kohima village, Kigwema village, Viswema village, Konoma village, as well as Kohima market, Museum, Cathedral, Nagaland Emporium etc.
Overnight at Kohima.

DAY 05: KOHIMA – MOKOKCHUNG (150 KMS 6 HRS DRIVE)

The morning after breakfast drive to Mokokuchung, en route visit Longsa village(Lotha tribe) and Longkhim village, On arrival check in at Tourist Lodge.
Overnight at Mokokchung.
Meal: Breakfast

DAY 06: MOKOKCHUNG – MON (200 KMS 7 ½ HRS. DRIVE)

Morning after breakfast visit Mokokchung Daily Market. Afterwards proceed to Mon via Naginimora. Upon arrival at Mon, check-in at Hotel.

Meal: Breakfast

DAY 07: MON

Moring after breakfast proceed to Mon Village to see the Konyak Tribe and their tradition. Also visit the house of the Royal Family. This would be followed by a visit to the Shyangnu Village. Take a walk through the village and pay a visit to the King’s House and the Musuem. Later drive back to the hotel at Mon. Spend the evening at leisure.

DAY 08: MON – DIBRUGARH (115 KMS 4 HRS DRIVE)

Have an early breakfast this morning and proceed to Longmein Village at 0630 hrs. In this village, Later drive down to Dibrugarh via Sonari . Arrive Dibrugarh and check-in at Hotel for overnight stay.

Meal: Breakfast

DAY 09: DIBRUGARH - KOLKATA & DEPART

The morning after breakfast transfer to Airport to board flight for Kolkata. Further board international flight for onward destination.
